Our 40th High School Reunion

Our 40th High School Reunion was held on Saturday, July 28, 2007 at the Renassaince Hotel in White Plains, New York. It was attended by approximately 180--mostly classmates and some spouses. We had a blast! It was as if we were kids again and no time had passed since the last time we were together. Of course, since we all don't look exactly as we did in our youth, once we figured out who a person was, the connection was renewed.

We recited the Pledge of Allegiance together, were entertained by the singing of our Alma Mater, and our cheerleaders lead us in a cheer that brought back the old school spirit--Hey Rah Rah Rah Rah Rah! Hey Rah Rah Rah Rah Rah! Way to go girls--you've still got it!

We were joined by Dr. Bill Pratella -- one of our favorite teachers and we received a surprise visit from the current Mayor of Mt. Vernon, Ernest Davis.

We danced to our favorites--mostly Motown--and did a little Lindy, Stroll, and Twist (for those that remembered how to do those dances).

Friday evening prior to reunion, an informal get-together was held in the hotel lounge. Those that attended had quality time to renew old friendships and catch up with each others lives.

A tour of the High School was given on Saturday afternoon and the Empire State Games, track and field events, which were being held at the High School were attended by some as well.

Saturday after reunion, a good number of those staying at the hotel gathered together reminiscing until about 4:00 a.m. Nobody wanted to say goodbye.

Sunday morning many alumni met to have breakfast together in the hotel restaurant before heading back home.

The consensus of those that attended reunion was that old friendships were renewed and new friendships were made. We would like to keep in touch and take those friendships with us as we move forward in the years to come. We hope that this blog will encourage and help us to do that.
Many of our classmates that did not attend sent their wishes and were disappointed that reunion conflicted with other commitments. Some of our classmates that sent along greetings were Maryanne Cardillo, Jon Brock, Oz Scott, Jane Liepshutz, Rhoda Schneider, Manny Barriero, James Dalhoff, Laura DeMilio, Bill Sansone, Amelia Jakuback, Tanya Jackson, Nanette Columbi, Michael Bart, Larry Spruill, Deborah Mosian, Adeline Montalto, Doug Auer, Everett Vincent, Harvey Goldstein. (please forgive if this list is not complete)

God bless -- Cathy Sharpe Credendino
