Eastward Ho

Hey Cliff -- thanks for posting on the site. Good to hear from you again. Yes, the tugboat ride was amazing and it was really great to spend the day with Mario. Something I have come to realize from our reunions is that even if people did not "hang out" or weren't really close as friends in high school, we still have a connection and share memories -- and that is the basis for a current friendship. So all you out there reading this, let's keep connected.

By the way, if anyone is wanting to connect with someone that you lost touch with, I could possibly have their info even if they did not attend reunion. Either post the request here, comment, or email me regular or through Classmates.com.

---------------
I received an email from Everett (Rett) Vincent. After living in California for 29 years to the day, he and his wife Donna will be moving East to Ohio.

Ohio? Many of us have gone from north to south, or east to west, but very few have settled in the inner states. It might be a little bit of heaven or it might be culture shock. I actually have a bunch of friends in Ohio now and it seems like a really nice place to live in. I wish Rett and Donna a safe move and a wonderful new life.

Every once in a while I am going to post those dreaded high school photos, just so people can put a name with a face -- so here ya go -- here is Rett (and honestly, I don't think his picture is bad at all)

Tug Boat Pictures

What a great set of pictures! I haven't been on the water in New York harbor since
our sixth grade class took a ride on the Circle Line. I think Mario may have been on
that boat too.

Wonder No More

I no longer have to wonder if anyone is reading our blog. I have put a counter in the code which now shows how many people visit the site. So far, in the last few days, we have had 35 visits! Wooohooo!

Ok, so if a lot of you are reading, why are you not commenting or posting? Come on, it's really easy! This is a CLASS Blog--not my blog (I am only blogging so this site does not go dormant) :) and anyone else out there in the world can comment too.

Tug Boat Ride

Last Sunday, Helene Hoffman (Fierman) and her hubby Marc Fierman, and me, spent the day with Mario Criscione on one of his tugboats. This was a once in a lifetime experience -- who does this? A tugboat is a 24/7 working vessel and it doesn't get much time for joyriding so the experience was great and the time with friends was even greater.

To a native New Yorker (who will be moving south within the next year or so), I haven't really done many of the tourist attractions. I have been to the Empire State Building a few times, the CircleLine with my kids, the UN, the museums and Broadway, but I haven't been to The Statue of Liberty or Ellis Island. Mario gave us an up close and personal tour of the NY Harbor and the East River and all the little nooks and crannies that only a seasoned waterman would know. I am posting a few pictures here, but please visit my photo album for my pictures and Marc's pictures. (Of course you can tell Marc took all of the ummmmmmm wonderful shots of me going up and down the ladder to access the tug from the shore)

Thank you again Mario -- the invitation was much appreciated and the time together was really great--Let's not let another 40 years go by. And thank you Marc and Helene for the special time with you too and for letting me hitch a ride :)

To be Continued

Sandy, it was great to see you this summer and hope we can get together again soon.

Did anyone do anything this Labor Day? Is anyone reading this? Do you need help in posting? If you do, email me.

This past weekend, I had a once in a lifetime type experience. I am running off to work now, but I will blog about this past Sunday and the great time I had with Mario Criscione, Marc Fierman, and Helene Hoffman (Fierman). Don't forget to check back to read all about it :) To give you a little hint (but you won't be able to guess), I am posting one picture for now that I took Sunday.

Labor Day Weekend

My wife, Lynne and I spent a relaxing time on Martha's Vineyard. Hanging out with friends enjoying the sun. Leroy Ashwood and I tried to hook up but we were able to talk by phone.

We are getting ready to do host our Second Annual "Jazz on the Grass" Concert in our backyard Sept. 15th for the Jackie Robinson Foundation. Great line up this year. We had a great turn out last year and hope to do better this year. Will let you all know how it went. The website for the event is "www.jackierobinson.org/events/lajazz.php" if anyone is curious.

Congratulations are Due

Congratulations to both Frank Marallo and his wife Patty Ritacco Marallo, and to Ralph Frusante (I know I spelled that wrong)

Both have news to shout.... Each had a new grandson born this week!
We thank God for all the blessings for healthy children in both families.

Congrats and much love :)

Labor Day Weekend 2007

Well, the summer is officially over -- so that means that as the weather gets colder, more of us will be on the computer since it gets dark earlier and the weather isn't always friendly, and maybe more of you will POST to the site.

This past weekend I origianlly had hoped to go to Myrtle Beach to further my hobby --supporting and following Bucky Covington -- but things didn't work out so I made other plans which turned out to be great.

So, this Labor Day Weekend, we had a "girlie weekend" and Me, Sandy Stroud, and Patty Rizzatello all got together and had a great time doing girlie things. Besides that we ATE and ATE and had several daytime and night time adventures enjoying the weather and our time together.

It is so great to get together with friends and classmates and to remember the good ole days when we were younger LOL .. and have fun in the present as well.

I am posting a few pictures, but ugh.. I am NOT photogenic LOL and not ready for pix.
[by the way, I am still waiting for your adventures to appear! -- Cliff Chiat, I saw that comment you left and we missed you!]

Sooooooooooooo, how was your Labor Day Weekend? -- don't all type at once LOL
